Fashion today is a representation of something new, so far unseen and spectacular...

But some of the new pieces of popular designers resemble many things that we've already seen. It seems that fashion has exhausted the imagination and creativity of these artists, and they often return to the past and derive inspiration for their innovations from past decades.

Each decade of the last century had its hallmark - fashion has changed, evolved and grew, and became bold and brave. The thirties of the last century are remembered in the minds of many as the age of glamour and elegance. The main trends of the decade with still are seen on the streets - many ladies copied hairstyles, makeup and accessories of that time.

During the 30ies, the main trend in hairstyles was the waves. With a gentler appearance in relation to the sharp bob hairstyles and hair taut that were popular in the twenties, ladies began to wear a little more feminine hairstyle, whereby a portion of the hair was combed to the side. At the beginning of this decade, short hair still ruled, in combination with hats and hair accessories. As the decade of the '30s wore on, more and more ladies are opting for longer and more delicate hairstyle, just like many famous actresses.

Wavy hairstyles of the ‘30 have been revived in the present time, although ladies wear something less defined waves in comparison with those of the past. In modern times, gentle waves in your hair could be seen not only at formal events and red carpet – they have become a part of everyday life of all the fashion conscious ladies.

Great depression has affected many of the ladies during the thirties, so they did not often have the opportunity to buy new and modern wardrobe. However, they have found a way to look glamorous without investing in accessories and the like. Exquisite pair of shoes and stylish hat was able to provide them with enough glamour to any occasion. Like when it comes to clothing and hairstyles, ladies from this period were inspired by what they saw at the cinema. Ladies like Carole Lombard, Joan Crawford and Jean Harlow were the main influences on the choice of wardrobe ordinary ladies this time.

Hats that are worn in the 20s, were popular and early thirties. But as the decade went on, asymmetric, masculine styles have become very popular. Panama hats were widely popular, as well as a wide straw hats. They were an essential part of modern-looking ladies' from the 30s.

During the crisis period, the ladies began to wear shoes with wider and lower heels. The most popular models of shoes that were worn were the famous Oxford shoes, but with a large number of decorative elements. Gloves were a reflection of elegance for all the ladies of the decade. During the day, it was customary to wear short gloves, while in the evening, styles of gloves elbow length were extremely popular and glamorous. Shoes and gloves that are in the same vein were considered a reflection of the refined style.

Less expensive pieces of jewelry were popular in that era, thanks to the great economic crisis. Coco Chanel was one of the most popular makers of exquisite pieces of jewelry where the Art Deco style had the strongest influence on the overall design of the earlier part of the decade, while later, the pieces were becoming increasingly easier. Colours in contrast, big and bold jewels were the main trends of this decade.

And when we talk about make-up, the ladies have received much inspiration from cinema and movies. Hollywood stars were reflecting elegance and refined style. Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford and Carole Lombard set standards regarding the make-up of this decade. The appearance was similar to that which we have seen during the 20s without so much emphasize on the eyes and overall appearance. The face of these ladies was gentler, in accordance with wavy hair and a total return of a very feminine appearance.
