DRIVE THROUGH SHOPPING SERVICE

Selfridges will offer the world’s first drive-through shopping service from 2014...

What does come to your mind when you hear of “drive-thrus”? Mc Donald’s or Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t it? Well, now you can add Selfridges to the list! The high-end department store has been planning to introduce ‘drive-thrus’ and is soon scheduled to launch this service for its most esteemed customers. Now a visit to Selfridges could be accomplished without you having to go through the ordeal of finding parking space, walking through the exhaustive aisles of the store, and stand in long queues for payments! All of this can now be done through a “Click and Collect” option that Selfridges has already launched on its online shopping website.

Although Selfridges has already begun the “Click and Collect” service online, the ‘drive-thru’ service would also be available starting from early next year, in January, wherein customers can order their purchases online and collect them from a reception area that would be made available behind its Oxford Street store. For now, customers can reserve their purchases and retrieve them from the store. The brand is making efforts to make all products available to its customers through the “Click and Collect” category, with an exception of perishables.

It looks like soon there will be a list of such department stores and retailers taking this route. After all, the “Customer’s the King”, and there’s no denying that!
