Catellani & Smith bright Nature for ‘I Maestri del Paesaggio’
In an engaging dialogue between light and nature, which is halfway between reality and a dream, once again Catellani & Smith will take part in the international festival ‘ I Maestri del Paesaggio ’, that again this year will bring together international specialists and landscape gardening masters from all over the world to the enchanting city of Bergamo Alta.
As suggested by the Dutch landscape architect Lodewijk Baljon, the focus of the 7th edition is 'Cool Landscape', intended both as an examination and reflection of the design of shady and cool areas, and a direct reference to elegance and comfort.
Catellani & Smith will interpret the theme with an installation that emphasizes its first collection of outdoor lamps, designed to reproduce the same warmth and atmosphere of its interior lighting, even in green spaces. There are Medousê, More, Syphasera and Syphasfera, luminous 'plants' that meet the concepts of architects and designers and are able to transform, flourish, multiply and change habitats. If "design" means "inventing" new shapes, then this collection, that has been officially included into the Catellani & Smith production catalogue, could be considered as an example of ‘non-design’, since it does not dare to change something that is naturally perfect, but mimics what can be found in nature.
