With North designer Arik Levy has come up with a new category of lamp. One that fuses a floor lamp and a suspended lamp, recreating a floating effect.
Effeverscent, harmonic repetitions
Normann Copenhagen presents Ekko Throw Blanket, designed by Günzler.Polmar.
Ekko is a range of throw blankets in a contemporary design, woven in a soft, luxurious quality of 100% New Zealand lamb´s wool. Ekko has a light effervescent, graphic pattern of repetitive circles and cylinder shapes that overlap. The Ekko Throw Blanket is ideal for wrapping up in on a late summer evening in the garden, as well as on a cold winter day with a great book.
The Norwegian design team of Günzler.Polmar has experimented with composition and repetition and used traditional weaving techniques to create an updated visual expression. In the design process, they have placed a great deal of emphasis on how weaving techniques can add to the character of the throw blanket. Like two identical motifs, each with their own style, the front and back are reflections of one another. This makes Ekko compelling to look at, no matter which side is up.
Günzler.Polmar elaborates on this: ”We created Ekko's design by experimenting with repetition and pattern-building. We set about the task as though we were going to create a picture or a painting. Our aim was to achieve balance and harmony in the motif, but it also had to be exciting and dynamic to look at.”
Ekko is available in yellow/dusty blue, raspberry/mint and navy/rose - three surprising combinations of colour for all lovers of design who wish to brighten up their decor with a fresh array of colour. Ekko is also available in a classic grey version.
