Tom Dixon’s AW/18 Lighting Inspiration
As the days get shorter and the temperature gets cooler, it is (finally!) time to start getting cosy indoors.
The comforts of hosting dinner parties, Sunday morning sleep-ins and afternoon teas at home are all made better with warm lighting. Discover our favourite pendant and surface lights for this season.
MELT is a series of distorted spherical pendants, half-metallised to create an extraordinary optic effect and cast an ethereal luminosity on their surroundings. Available as a pendant, pendant mini, table light, floor light and surface light.
Futuristic and faceted, CUT is an exercise in optics. Its space-age mirror finish when off transforms to reveal a translucent kaleidoscopic gem when switched on. Hypnotising reflections of the luminous orb within repeat infinitely within the diamond cut, vacuum metallised interior. Available as small and tall pendant and surface lights.
PLANE is characterised by its simplicity and bold geometry: basic silhouettes made from a brass-plated steel frame and a double-layered white glass sphere creating a mysterious optical illusion. An exercise in expressive minimalism. Available in round and triangle pendants, short and drop chandeliers and wall and table lights.
BEAT is a series of lights in six distinctive pendant shapes. Inspired by the sculptural simplicity of traditional Indian water vessels and available in four finishes, all with a warm interior of beaten brass or silver plate. Available in Stout, Flat, Wide, Fat, Tall and Waist pendants, as well as floor, table and wall lights.
Inspired by vacuum flasks, the VOID pendant is made from pure metal, which is formed into a complex double-walled shade. A small but powerful halogen bulb deep inside the lamp creates a soft but directional light beam, while the exterior is polished to a highly reflective finish. Available as a pendant, mini pendant, and wall light.
All lighting available online at tomdixon.net and at their flagship shops across the world.
