LUXURIOUS SELVA FURNITURE

Selva presented us their new luxurious furniture pieces on Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milano...

On the occasion of the forty-fifth anniversary of the company’s founding, SELVA presented its new creations of the Philipp Selva Home line at the “Salone Internazionale del Mobile” in Milan. These were created by three international designers and introduced within the refined, modern stand design.“The Salone has always been very important for us, especially for our premium segment,” recounted Philipp Selva, president and CEO of SELVA. “Just like the stand concept, the furniture that was newly presented here is very modern and forward-looking for our company. The extremely positive feedback from our visitors showed us that we have adopted the right path – the one that leads to the modern age.”

The newly conceived stand concept was selected to be consciously simple and elegant. The new furniture by the three designers Lorenzo Bellini, Tiziano Bistaffa and Peggy Norris was harmoniously inserted into the tradeshow stand that was staged in a stylistically confident manner. With the refined interplay of classic and modern elements, the elegant selection of fabrics, finishes, colours, and forms, and the extravagant designs, SELVA in this way created a furnishing aesthetic to be experienced by the senses. The white wooden floor and the walls with a concrete look created an understated base in which the new furniture became the leading players at the stand, purposefully drawing the attention to the outstanding work by the three designers.

The absolute favorites of the public among the newly presented furniture models were the following: PEGGY Chair by Peggy Norris

American designer Peggy Norris has designed furniture for SELVA for the first time, and its debut at the Salone del Mobile proved to be a complete success. Above all else, the PEGGY chair, which is modeled after the famous “barrel chair”, inspired visitors through its feminine form and handmade craftsmanship. The particularity of the chair consists of the curved backrest and the seat being made from a single piece of cherry. In addition, just the handcrafted upholstering process alone takes a full ten hours of labor.

VICTORIA Table by Tiziano Bistaffa

Tiziano Bistaffa designed the VICTORIA table specifically for the Salone del Mobile and was especially pleased with the positive feedback from the visitors. Inspired by the Empire Period, this table has a classic soul which, however, has been readapted to today’s requirements for comfort and function. With its 180 cm. diameter, the VICTORIA table creates room for a friendly setting that fosters hospitality and good company, making uncomplicated contact possible among table partners.

ASTORIA Bed by Lorenzo Bellini

For the renowned Italian architect and designer Lorenzo Bellini, this bed embodies a milestone in the collaboration with SELVA which has been ongoing since 1992. The extremely futuristic lines of the cherry form an exciting interplay with the material of leather. For the first time, rather than transforming lines from the past into a present design, Bellini wished to take a step from the present into the future.
