Jez and Tonja Scott from Scott Architects completed this year the renovation of the lovely De Beauvoir Victorian house (in London), highlighting its quirky and curvaceous extension.
Shortlisted for the The Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2013, the project won eventually the title “Best house” in “Small house” category. Designed with sustainability in mind, the house features a roof garden, low energy lighting, underfloor heating and many more. Exquisite Victorian details emphasise its precious traditional appearance while the new rear extension, integrating sculptural forms, adds a touch of modern. As you explore the residence from one end to the other, you observe the strong contrast between old and new, the striking juxtaposition of two contrasting directions.
