LUXURIOUS SUMMIT HOUSE

When you move into a larger home, the comfort and inviting atmosphere should only get better, even if larger spaces can make you feel lost.

In the case of this stunning modern residence known as the Summit House, Whipple Russell Architects designed a collection of spaces that are visually interconnected. Through extensive use of glass and an open floor plan that seamlessly connects to the outdoors, architects created a customized dream home in Beverly Hills, California.

“One of the owners is a well-known sports agent making the entertaining of adults as well as teenage children and their friends an essential design goal. Summit house holds examples of our interest in both modern functionality and innovation. Prior to construction, an old home on the property was intricately deconstructed so that building materials, fixtures and appliances could be reused or donated to non-profit organizations.”

The inhabiting family enjoys a home not only beautifully designed, but one that follows sustainable principles as well. Solar power and passive solar design elements were employed together with a  gray-water reclamation system, making the home eco-friendly while also being smart. A computerized system controls shades, the water system and entertaining areas. Smart, sustainable, gorgeous – this is what a dream home looks like.
