The automotive industry has grown quite significantly during the last decades, both in terms of quality and performances, and in terms of pricing as well...

There’s  a plethora of expensive supercars and limousines on the roads today, but very few of them are able to join the ranks of this top 10 that we’ve conceived.

To be precise, our list with the 10 Most Expensive Cars in the World of 2012 doesn’t include any vehicle worth 6 digit figures, as you will find out as we carry on.  These cars were bought for millions but we’re sure that they’re worth every single penny if we would ask the lucky owners who got to buy any of these cars.

Starting from the least expensive, our 10th rank has been filled by a Hennessey Venom GT worth $1 million. This 1,200 HP U.S.-sourced piece of engineering perfection is the first car built by Hennessey Performance. The brand is renowned for the twin-turbo Dodge Vipers it manufactures and a lot more projects, but, by conceiving and building the Venom GT, they have really pulled it off.

Far from being an original car, the Venom GT sports a Lotus Elise Platform chassis. The engine is a 6.2-liter V8 coming from GM. Worth mentioning, the car reaches 60 mph from a standstill in just 2.5 seconds.

9. Pagani Huayra

Number 9 on our list is the famous Pagani Huayra, a monster of a car powered by a 700 HP Mercedes-Benz twin-turbo V12 engine. Extremely sleek, with round shapes and modern design, the Huayra is the second type of supercar manufactured by Pagani.
