KEIRA KNIGHLTEY AS COCO CHANEL

This short film by Karl Lagerfeld already draws much attention to itself since the lead actress will be young and beautiful Keira Knightley…

French label Chanel has always stood as a symbol for timeless and classic style and its founder, Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, a recurring style icon. The brand’s Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld has decided to mark the Chanel’s 100th Anniversary by directing a short film in honor of its founder, himself. Hollywood actress, and also the face for the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance campaign, Keira Knightley, will essay the character of the famous designer. Karl, who has a penchant for celebrity and model muses, has always considered Knightley as one. Known for his extravagant sets, Lagerfeld will recreate Deauville’s original small seaside town and its charm through retro sets, in Paris for the filming. The film boasts of an ensemble cast; French actress Clotilde Hesme will play Adrienne, Chanel’s aunt and close friend, while model Stella Tennant, muse Tallulah Harlech and Lagerfeld’s youngest catwalk star, toddler Hudson Kroenig (also his godson), will also be seen in noted roles.

Lagerfeld’s film which will pay an ode to Chanel’ first ever store in Deauville, France, will be premiered in May when the brand showcases its next Cruise collection in Singapore. With such great creative forces on work for this one, this short movie is surely one to watch out for!
