The Mediterranean Sea has played a big part in the history of all major civilizations, having been almost completely explored and settled.
Very few places remain uninhabited and pristine, which is what makes Isola di Mal Ventre such a precious piece of land. The island has been inhabited, albeit not continuously, since Roman times, with a few Ancient remains still standing as proof. Located just a few miles off the western coast of Sardinia, it offers 200 acres of basically flat space, ideal for building a perfect secluded summer home. The main challenge would be creating facilities such which provide electrical power and drinking water from scratch, something which would probably cost than the island itself – but with the unique nature of the place, its privacy and beauty, it would probably be a worthwhile investment. Speaking of price, the English businessman to whom Isola di Mal Ventre belongs since the 1970s is selling the spot for the equivalent of around $2 million.
