Good old gramophones are back through Gramavox, a Bluetooth speaker with a classic retro look in a form of a gramophone...
Mounted on a solid walnut base, Gramovox is an example of the return of vintage audio equipment: it is equipped with a functional, contemporary art sound that is cleaner and clearer than original. His S- shaped horn is 3:4 scale reproduction of the 1920s R3 Magnavox horn, which is acoustically optimized to amplify music generated from the wooden base.
Basically covered with a 3D printed plate fixed to the electronics unit, which includes Bluetooth 3.0 module, mono 3W driver, plus a huge 3,300 mAh Li-Ion battery intended for up to 15 hours of enjoying music.
As sound waves are refracted through the horn, you have the impression of natural-vintage midrange sound. In the beginning this was a Kickstarter project, and now it is in production and available for $400.
