MELEK BY PERINI NAVI

The fabulous 56 meters long Perini Navi’s Melek superyacht available for charter on the Mediterranean during the summer...

Measuring 56 meters from bow to stern, the fabulous Melek is Perini Navi’s 50th superyacht and the 9th yacht part of the Italian brand’s 56-meter series. Perini Navi has been with us for 30 years now, since they’ve been founded back in 1983, therefore this means they’ve really put their hands into manufacturing exquisite cruisers.

The Melek was reportedly launched to sea during September 2010. What’s special about this particular cruiser is the unique design of the superb foredeck, which houses a built-in tender storage. The aluminium superstructure is extremely hydrodynamic and aerodynamic, sleek and fabulous to look at. The hull lines and appendages have been fully optimized for the best of performance and efficiency, with the helping hand of Ron Holland.

The exterior appearance is quite different from its siblings, in a very nice and sporty way – Perini Navi has applied a grey chrome paint to the masts, boom and superstructure. Furthermore, the masts of this particularly special vessel have been developed, designed and manufactured at the Perini Navi Masts Division. The mizzen and the mast are crafted from aluminium, measuring 47.97 meters and respectively 58.37 meters in height, while the furling boom has superbly been crafted from carbon fiber. The sail plan spans over 1,500 square meters, which is rather fantastic.

While the lavish aft cockpit is secured all around by transparent paneling, it encompasses an al fresco dining area, retractable TV screens, huge amounts of storage space and two large L-shaped sofas. Adjacently there’s a day head and a semicircular external staircase leading towards the flybridge. The flybridge itself is quite a fantastic place to be, housing a large sunbathing area, two L-shaped sofas with built-in refrigerators and a stunningly beautiful Jacuzzi.

The interiors of the Melek are appointed in the most superb of manners and were entirely designed in-house. They combine classiness with contemporariness, aside a very strong personality. There are elegant cherry wood trim pieces throughout, with exceptional walnut inlays. This theme is nicely boosted by touches of brushed spruce, wenge, leather and parchment. As for the main saloon, it is an open space rounded off in the corners by exquisite cabinets wrapped in leather. The centerpiece of the main saloon is a three-ramp staircase with two lateral ramps that mirror each other and pave the way towards the guest deck. The central ramp itself leads guests towards the flybridge.

Gorgeously illuminated, the main staircase efficiently divides the saloon into a dining area with a round table that can accommodate up to 12 guests, an S-shaped sofa, card table and two small armchairs, and an exceptional living space with two armchairs, coffee table and a large, cozy sofa. Separating the indoor bridge from the saloon the builders have mounted an unusually elegant cherry wood folding door whose panels can be folded like an accordion. Getting to the most luxurious place on this vessel – the owner’s suite – it is full beam and astern. It was designed to consist of two different areas – a large bathroom fitted with shower and bathtub, alongside an elegant central island with double sink on one side and a vanity table on the opposite side, and a bedroom with cozy sofa, a desk and double bed. On the way towards the bow there are additional accommodation units in the shape of four double guest cabins, three of them endowed with double beds and en-suite bathrooms, while the other sports a Pullman berth, two twin beds and en-suite bathroom.

The transom of this gorgeous cruiser can be hydraulically folded down so that it gets converted into a terrace upon the sea with built-in staircase. There’s also a lateral platform which can be used as either easy access to the sea or as a launch spot for the onboard tender. The fabulous Melek is currently available for charter on the Mediterranean, during the summer.
