To spend the night at ICEHOTEL is not like any other experience...
A hotel in the village of Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, is made from thousands of tons of ice and snow. The building materials - 10,000 tons of crystal clear ice from the River Torne and 30,000 tons of pure snow - are all generously supplied by Mother Nature.
Of course, the hotel melts in the summer and must be rebuilt each winter, so each November, building starts all over again to have the hotel ready to open in mid December. In this hotel every bedroom is unique. There's a pillar hallway and the lobby has seats made of blocks of ice covered with reindeer skins, an ice chandelier and a pretend ice TV.
Guests can combine one night in ICEHOTEL with several nights in warm accommodation for that perfect ICEHOTEL experience.They offer double and twin rooms, hotel chalets for 3-5 people, spacious and comfortable, in a Scandinavian design. Guests sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a bed built by ice blocks, a wooden frame, mattress and it is topped with reindeer skins. Surrounded by art work made of ice and snow, by artists from all over the world.
Outer wear, gloves, shoes, breakfast buffet, morning sauna and admission to ICEHOTEL is always included in the price when you stay in one of our accommodations. Towels and bed linnen are also included.
The hotel stays open as long a weather permits (late April to early May) but sooner or later, Mother Nature decides that the season is over. Bit by bit, she takes back her building materials, and the hotel gradually trickles back into the River Torne.
