Carrera celebrates their 50 year anniversary...
TAG Heuer will present their famous Carrera series, in honour of the 'Carrera Panamericana Mexico', the world’s most gruelling automobile endurance race, which will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. It was under Jack Heuer’s leadership that the Carrera was developed and launched in 1963. He was responsible for some of the most ground-breaking innovations in sports timekeeping and designed this new watch according to the needs of the most important race-car divers during that time. Simple design, readable, water and impact resistant, made this a perfect watch for drivers and for those who consider time a relevant factor in their lives.
Carrera has been recognised by many famous drivers such as: Ayrton Senna, Juan Pablo Montoya, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen as well as TAG Heuer’s current Ambassador, Jenson Button. A vintage gold Carrera was presented to every Ferrari Formula One driver during the 1970’s. These watches had the names and blood-types of the individual drivers engraved on the backs. TAG Heuer announced a new partnership with McLaren in 1985 and since the 90’s, they were in charge of timekeeping the entire F1 competition. Recently, TAG Heuer announced a new partnership with AudiSport, clearly representing a strong tie with the world of automobiles. A new partnership with the Formula E Championships in 2014 has been announced, verifying once again the strong relationship between the two.
To mark the 50th year of this influential masterpiece, TAG Heuer presented their new Carrera Calibre 36 Chronograph Flyback at the World Watch Show in Basel. A chronograph with a simplified way of measuring time and majestic design prove that TAG Heuer is a driving force for innovation in the world of high-end watchmaking.
TAG Heuer will present a small collection from their Carrera series at the White Palace on September 6th, during the “24 hours of Elegance“ opening. Several extravagant pieces from their vintage collection will be on display as well as a number of pieces from their new collection. Their 50th anniversary celebration will continue the next day during our „ABSOLUT Luxury Salon,“ which takes place at the Grand Casino Beograd, beginning at 15:00h.
