BAUME ET MERCIER HAMPTON LADY

The contours of the Hampton collection of watches, with their soft curves and feminine shapes, are inspired by models designed by Baume & Mercier in the 1930s and '40s.

Today, this collection has grown to include two delicate timepieces for women who know that elegance is in the details.Very early on, Baume & Mercier, a company founded in the Swiss Jura in 1830 by the Baume brothers, was savvy to the needs of women. As evidence of this, Louis-Victor, one of the two founders, gave his daughter Mélina a gold pocket watch in 1869. This was a very original gift, as at the time only a few noble or upper merchant class women wore watches as jewelry. Indeed, the gift was a precedent to a revolution in watchmaking art: a revolution that would carry along William Baume and Paul Mercier, who in 1918 began creating refined and very original collections of ladies' watches.

Since then, Baume & Mercier has taken care to fulfill women's desires, continually developing new models whose timeless elegance is exclusively aimed at enhancing femininity through a perfect mastery of art and design.

This year, Baume & Mercier has decided to delight women by offering them two new variations in the Hampton collection. This line has been a classic for twenty years and is inspired from a model first presented in the '30s and '40s. Its design is a manifestation of the Art Deco period, expressing confidence and refinement. These two new pieces are decidedly feminine, offering sensible dimensions (34.5 mm x 22 mm) in order to fulfill the expectations of ladies for whom beauty is a state of mind that can be conveyed on any occasion.
