NEW JAEGER-LECOULTRE RELEASES

It is one thing to possess a piece of haute horology and another to procure a piece of artwork.

But Jaeger-LeCoultre is among those brands whose endeavors have cultivated both at once and combined fine watchmaking with excellent displays of artistry, the latest one visible in the Master Grand Tourbillon Enamel. The watch was introduced in Venice last week amidst weeklong revelry in celebration of the luxury label’s 180th anniversary.

Cranes rest amid bamboo shoots on its hand-enameled dial, as a sign of longevity juxtaposing well against tourbillon technology. The depth and intensity of colors in the champlevé enamel create an almost three-dimensional look. For the first time a sapphire crystal adorns a Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece, enhanced by an innovative miniature painting technique in a limited edition of 8 pieces.

Swiss automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house caliber-978 movement crafted, assembled and decorated by hand possesses a power reserve of 48 hours and 33 jewels in this timepiece. With 22kt gold, the award-winning caliber compliments the tourbillon carriage made from a titanium alloy, which maintains its rotations using very little energy. Also sapphire, the display back is water resistant to 50 meters while the strap is black alligator with a diamond set buckle in white gold. Its 18kt white gold case carries 94, 8-carat diamonds to enhance the tourbillon’s timeless appeal, very reminiscent of the brand’s 2011 watch collection and its bejeweled mastery.
