Hurawalhi Island Resort in the Maldives has just received the largest underwater restaurant in the world, which will offer you the best view to the sea bed, in addition to excellent meals. This restaurant will open in August, and a number of people are already interested in booking.
It is built around a steel structure with an acrylic dome that is transparent, and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the view of the marine world, while trying out the tastiest dishes. With enough space for up to 30 guests, the new restaurant is located near the coral reef in the Lhaviyani atoll and its impact on the environment is minimal.
It’s designed by MJ Murphy, an architectural firm in Oakland, while the transparent dome is the work of Fitzroy Engineering Company. The structure is 22.5 meters long, weighs about 410 tons, and production of this project lasted about 10 months.
This restaurant will be reached through the structure that is over water, or over a spiral staircase 13 meters long. To be honest, the food that will be served at this restaurant will be prepared on the surface of the earth.
