BENTLEY HOME MAISON & OBJET

It is an aristocratic look related to the world of travel that which Bentley Home sets up to present the new collection at Maison & Objet 2015.

Against the backdrop of a 1920s train station in an ideal path which – from the roots and tradition typical of the historic Bentley – leads to the new and modern course that the celebrated English brand sets forth on.

It reveals two parallel scenes whose common denominator is impeccable style and great glamour in a wide central corridor towered over by an imposing clock. On the one side, the setting recalls an exclusive mountain locale. The panorama sketches an alpine landscape seen from the rooms of a magnificent and contemporary chalet in Courchevel. On the other hand, the atmospheres become more and more urban, the views depict Viennese palaces, introducing an austere abode with marked elegance. Broad living and representation areas where a refined mood comprised of precious and unique details prevails.

This is the scene in which a collection of furniture unfolds made by architect Carlo Colombo to create a lifestyle without compare, with the same charm and fascination of a Bentley. Sofas, armchairs, consoles, beds and accessories, like cigar boxes, frames, vases, rich textile remarks. Ideas with a strong aesthetic sensibility, synthesis between design and an innate culture of beauty. An enveloping style conceived to be experienced in everyday life, without having to trade-off luxury and impeccable workmanship.

The colours span a pallette of warm tones: brown tones, dark chocolate, brick, new praline shades. Shades that range from quartz grey to Burgundy and from hazelnut to royal blue also join in. The quest for style is fully expressed in the furniture’s upholstery. Elements typical of men’s tailoring, such as pinstripes and Prince of Wales suits and iconic Bentley patterns, including the quilted pattern, all feature on the leather: light, soft and very fine, in shades of beige, mink and cognac, matched with incredibly fine houndstooth-patterned wool in walnut and dark mocha hues.

Masterfully worked fox furs are widely used: broad and fluffy, the pieces come in silver fox, Arctic marble, natural red and light fawn fox. They create stoles and cushions and adorn the plaid edges in cashmere. New handmade velvets made with rod looms following ancient, complex work processes that produce fabrics unique in terms of quality and refinement. A world of the six senses embellished by patterns of workmanship with 3-D motifs and innovative quilted wefts.

The use of briar roots in Chestnut or Burr Walnut is everywhere for structures and surfaces. Veined Ebony Macassar, exclusive onyx and light Calacatta marbles adorn table tops and coffee tables, along with a gun-metal finish at the base.
