Menus are created around the four seasons with a new weekly inspiration menu highlighting the most fresh and rare ingredients sourced from around the world. The perfect ingredients to a truly memorable fine dining experience. Belgium born Charles Christiaens has been appointed as Executive Chef at Hansar Bangkok.
He has packed a considerable amount of experience into his career, and has worked at some of the best fine dining restaurants in Belgium, London and the south of France, including Le Trefle a Quartre Genval in Belgium (2 Michelin Stars), Relais et Chateau on Valvi Corsica Island, France (1 Michelin Star) and at the L Estelle en Camargues Chateaux et Hotel Collection. He has also cooked for a number of Society events in Cannes.
His love of travel bought him to Thailand on a diving holiday in 2003 and he fell in love with the country and has been there ever since. His first role in Thailand was at Bistingo soi Saladeang (now Aubergine) and then Harvey Restaurant, before becoming Chef de Cuisine at Nei Lert Park Swissotel’s Ma Maison Restaurant. He then moved to Landmark as Chef de Cuisine and prior to joining Hansar Bangkok, was Executive Chef at the Pathumwan Princess Hotel.
With more than 18 years’ experience under his belt, Chef Charles has a wealth of experience, talent and creativity which he is excited to bring to Hansar Bangkok where his culinary flair will be showcased at the award-winning EVE restaurant. He loves to create amazing flavours and aromas in his dishes, to ensure a memorable dining experience for his guests, using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Chef Charles will work closely with Executive Chef Stephen Dion at Hansar Samui, to ensure that Hansar brand standards and met, while each keeping the distinct culinary personality of their own property. In addition to extensive experience in Asia and Canada from where he hails, Chef Stephen was private Chef to His Majesty the Kind of Jordan for two years, catering for the Royal Family and many high profile dignitaries and Royalty including the Sultan of Brunei and Prince Charles.
