The mystery buyer who paid about $24.3 million for a Laguna Beach mansion last summer turns out to be Jon Favreau.
After spending 30 years in the film industry, Jon Favreau has amassed a fortune, some of which he spent on a Mediterranean-style mansion in Orange County, Laguna Beach. Jon Favreau is perhaps best known today as an actor who starred in numerous Marvel blockbusters such as “Avengers: Endgame,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and the “Iron Man” franchise, to name a few, but he also directed produced recent remakes such as "The Lion King" and "The Jungle Book".
According to various reports, his net worth exceeds $100 million.
The actor's new house consists of several floors. It is located right next to the hills and has direct access to the most secluded and desirable beaches in Orange County. The residence was built in the late 1990s and sold by real estate businessman Michael Narlinger and his wife, Kimberly.
The massive 860 square meter villa has been recently renovated and has luxurious interiors complete with stone pillars and beamed ceilings. Some of the outstanding features of the decor include French doors that open to massive terraces, a kitchen with granite countertops and high-end appliances, as well as a cinema and an elevator.
The upstairs master suite has a large terrace with sitting area with exotic water and sunset views, while the lower and lowest level have a large living room that opens to the pool and poolside cabana. The exteriors boast large lawns, an outdoor fireplace, and places to relax and socialize.
In addition to his new vacation home in Laguna, Jon Favreau also maintains a luxury complex consisting of three homes in upscale Santa Monica. The couple bought three properties from three different sellers in three separate transactions: the first in 2002, the second in 2005 and the third last year, for $6.9 million. Favreau also owns a $5 million property in Venice, which is reportedly used as an office for his production company, Fairview Entertainment.
