International Press Conference and Cersaie Evening 2015 to be held on Monday 28 September in the Ducal Palace in Sassuolo
On the first day of the 33rd Cersaie, the international exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, two of the show’s most important institutional events will take place in the Ducal Palace in Sassuolo. For the first time in its history, Cersaie’s evening devoted to the Italian ceramic industry will be held in Sassuolo, cradle of the national industry. The chosen venue is the Ducal Palace, a historic building dating back to the mid fifteenth century which for more than a century served as a holiday residence for the court of the House of Este.
The Ceramics of Italy International Press Conference, the meeting with Italian and international media professionals organised in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency ICE, will be held at 6.30 pm in the Salone delle Guardie of the Ducal Palace of Sassuolo (Piazzale della Rosa). The Chairman of the Promotional Activities and Trade Fairs Committee Emilio Mussini and other institutional representatives will outline the initiatives promoting Italian ceramics and the industry, the packed programme of events to be held during and after the show and the exhibitions staged during Cersaie. They will also discuss the participation of Italian ceramic companies in Expo 2015 and analyse key trends in ceramic products and materials. At the end of the International Press Conference, the 19th Ceramics of Italy Journalism Award will as usual be presented to the author of an outstanding article on Cersaie and the Italian ceramic industry published in a foreign magazine, along with three honourable mentions. This will be followed by the official announcement of the winner of Beautiful Ideas, a competition in which young designers are invited to create the visual for Cersaie 2016.
Next, the Cersaie Evening will be held at 8.00 pm in the magnificent Sala della Cavallerizza. Organised in cooperation with the Emilia-Romagna regional government, this invitation-only event is reserved for exhibitors at Cersaie, their guests and local and international institutions. It will be followed by the presentation of the Confindustria Ceramica Distributor Awards to four distributors (this year from France, Germany, Hong Kong and Italy) who have excelled in their relations with the Italian ceramic industry.
The International Press Conference and the Cersaie Evening 2015 are part of the programme of Ceramicland, the initiative promoting the local area organised by the seven municipalities of the ceramic district, the Emilia Romagna regional government and Confindustria Ceramica.
