CONTEMPORARY VILLA IN JOHANNESBURG

Situated in a green suburb of Athol, this contemporary residence is the latest work by Nico van der Meulen Architects...

It is designed to impress anyone who sees it. It is named Sari and it is the perfect embodiment of luxury, comfort and functionality in a minimalist environment. Clients, who wanted to build this villa, formerly possessed a modest one floor house, which had a limited view and access to the garden. It was dark and closed, so they wanted to transform into its exact opposite - good lighten villa with an open plan space and modern style. The biggest challenge was the natural lighting in every room, and Verner van der Meulen perfectly coped with it.

Steel columns and beams surround the entrance to this villa, while suspended plans for space hide four garages and floating roofs. Upon arrival, you will be delighted by hanging framed steel cube that appears to be floating in air while the frameless glass doors invite you to enter and explore the details of this minimalist, but hospitable and welcoming home. The old roof was replaced by a floating, resulting in a naturally lit living room and creating additional bedrooms for guests. The atrium of the villa allows sunlight to enter each room and it perfectly fulfills them with its warm spell.

The transition between the interior and exterior of this villa is virtually invisible when all the open sliding doors. It allows easy interaction between the kitchen, living room and family room. Living room has views of the pool and decorations on the water, as the whole landscape that surrounds this villa exudes a special beauty and modernity.
