ALEXANDER WANG A/W 2013

“Eye of the Tiger” was the song chosen to play in the background as Alexander Wang’s cool-looking models started their grand walk down the runway and one could easily tell they were feeling modern, luxurious and confident.

That is only to reaffirm how surely Wang’s designs change women, by effortlessly boosting up their spunk and helping them get noticed. The fall / winter 2013 collection was no different, especially as it referenced boxing as a subtext and many of the sporty elements translated to a series of tough details, perfectly captured by the fur mittens and knitted hoodies.

Further more the line-up was mostly grey, with just a few hints of black, rust and white. The range of outwear looked incredibly polished as the silhouettes were kept slightly oversized, the waists dropped and the fabrics extremely sophisticated. No doubt about it, these will change the face of the street-style as we know it in no time. At night is when the Wang women appeared a touch softer, but still bursting with attitude, as dressed in delicate iridescent sequin sweaters and black satin dresses featuring intricate cut-outs.
