NICOLE FARHI MEN SPRING/SUMMER 2014

Rows of white quartz crystals sat atop the benches at Nicole Farhi; a clue to the paired back but altogether dazzling collection that followed...

A sun-bleached palette of whites, pale blues, greys and sea foam greens was muted and natural, letting the fabrics and cuts do the talking. Simple Matter–Taking into account the fast-paced hectic world we live in, Nicole Farhi creative director Joanna Sykes wanted to simplify her man’s wardrobe for the spring/summer 2014 season. Expanding the collection’s formula, more extravagant finishes came into play, furnishing jackets in suede, applying intricate prints to suiting and mixing fabrics for sweaters.

The Farhi man is laid back, and effortlessly put together. Comfortable separates of blue knits and cropped tailored trousers sat with suede bikers and light bombers, while the dressier looks - two piece suits in pique jersey and crombie coats in fine tweeds looked refined but still understated. Dropping in a few female models onto the runway, Farhi allowed us to see what the outfits would look like on us ladies after rifling through our boyfriend's wardrobe.
