Soulland creative director Silas Adler looks to the Bauhaus art movement for the inspiration of his spring/summer 2014 collection.
Delving into Bauhaus history,Das Triadische Ballett by Oskar Schlemmer stood out. The three-act pantomime ballet consisted of dance mixed with mime, showcasing actors “transfigured from normal to geometrical shapes.” Allowing this transformation of shapes to inform the spring collection, Soulland’s latest outing features graphic prints that were made by hand, culminating in masks, geometrics and fragmented architectural pieces. Covering everything from shirts and chinos to shorts, the prints complemented the season’sKatastrophe logo sweatshirt that also champions the label’s streetwear aesthetic. Adding to the mix the introduction of their suiting line, classic blazers along with deconstructed counterparts furnished in Italian fabrics guarantee diversity for the lineup.
