Bang & Olufsen just enriched its wireless speaker range with the high quality floor standing speakers – BeoLab 20.
They look pretty imposing, as they sound, same as the most of company’s range. Designers say the Acoustic Lens tweeter is the key to its gleaming sound, with its 180-degree horizontal dispersion spreading smooth high-frequency sound evenly throughout the room. The Lens also minimizes the effect of floor and ceiling reflections to reduce unwanted distortion – the aluminum base elevates the cabinet to enhance performance as well. The speaker also packs Bang & Olufsen’s Adaptive Bass Linearisation tech, which monitors the low end and reduces bass throughput in response to extreme peaks.
Each speaker contains a 10-inch dual-coil bass unit in a separate 18-litre sealed box with two 160-watt class D amplifiers. There is also a 5-inch unit for midrange and a three-quarter-inch tweeter, each with their own dedicated 160-watt class-D amps.
The Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 20 speaker costs £3,748 ($6,311) – or £7,495 ($12,620) for a pair – and is available now from B&O stores worldwide.
