Rolls Royce of the audio realm

The Bowers & Wilkins brand has refreshed its iconic 800 Series Diamond collection of premium speakers…

The fourth generation 800 Series Diamond again consists of seven models, which include a two-way 805 D4 floor speaker, an 804 D4, 803 D4, an 802 D4 range of three-way floor models and a brand new 801 D4 floor model. The most noticeable refresh comes in the form of a new Biometric Suspension system that replaces conventional canvas liners. According to the company, this detail improves the speaker's performance, reducing the air pressure caused by conventional elements, emitting globally cleaner sound. The updated 800 Series line also gets Continuum Cone mid- and bass range drivers, which add clarity and precision to any sound. The collection also gets Bowers & Wilkins FST, which is a polymer ring around a mid-range driver, which improves the transient response and avoids “colouring” the sound.

When it comes to design changes, the style now includes two aluminium sections. The mid-range elements are set apart from the rest of the sound cabinet, and in addition, the Solid Body Tweeter on top of the speakers also got its refreshment. Created from a single piece of aluminium, it now has an extended tube system that helps it produce even more open high-frequency sound.

Bowers & Wilkins also introduced three brand new cases in the 800 series. The housing of the 805 D4 and 804 D4 stereo models consists of a "reverse wrap" design, which was first launched six years ago exclusively for the largest floor models. The company has also added a fourth finish to the series - Satin Walnut, which joins existing Gloss Black, White and Satin Rosenut options.

When it comes to pricing, the 801 D4 sits at the very top of the range with a price tag of $ 35,000. The 802 D4, 803 D4 and 804 D4 floor models cost $ 26,000, $ 20,000 and $ 12,500. In the end, we can emphasize that the new series of speakers is available for purchase from September 1 in selected stores.
