Fusing design and engineering, Panerai sets itself apart in the realm of high-end horological complications.

With a commitment to innovation, technical mastery, and meticulous attention to detail, Panerai timepieces embody the brand's Italian heritage and pursuit of horological expertise. The new Panerai Submersible S eTitanio™ PAM01403 continues the legacy of disruptive and awe-inspiring concepts in collaboration with luxury mobility brand BRABUS.

Crafted with precision and innovation, the 47mm case of the PAM01403 is made from eTitanio™, a 100% recycled titanium powder derived from pre-consumer scraps of titanium alloy. Utilizing Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology, Panerai is one of the pioneering watchmakers to employ this technique. The result is a lightweight case with a uniform appearance that is difficult to achieve through traditional methods.

Through an intricate 3D printing process, the watch case materializes layer by layer, with titanium powder fused together using high-power fiber optic laser sintering. This meticulous process creates a solid structure from seemingly nothingness, with each pass of the laser adding a consistent layer only 30 microns (0.03 mm) thick. Remarkably, this technique allows for the creation of a hollow case band without compromising strength or water resistance. The DMLS titanium watch weighs a mere 115g, with the case alone weighing 23.6g. It is approximately 30% lighter than a standard titanium case.

At the heart of the Submersible S is the Skeleton Caliber, one of Laboratorio di Idee's premium complications. The skeletonized movement showcases a stripped-down design that highlights the key components. The watch features a micro-rotor for automatic winding, providing a power reserve of up to 3 days. Additionally, it includes a GMT function with a second bicolor hour hand and AM/PM indicator, emphasizing the watch's functionality and versatility. The DMLS titanium process is patented, and the timepiece boasts other patented features such as a security device for watch control mechanism, a rotating bezel system, a lever with a rotating roller, a polarized date, zero reset, and stop-second movement. The small seconds at 9 o'clock feature a second reset for precise time setting. An original Panerai creation is the patented polarized date, allowing the numerals to be visible only when passing through the opening without obscuring the mechanism. With its skeletonized structure, the watch is impressively lightweight, offering both functionality and style. The red accents pay homage to the BRABUS design DNA.

The watch is complemented by two distinct bracelets: a bi-material black calf strap and a black strap made from 68% recycled PET sourced from post-consumer waste. Limited to 177 pieces worldwide, the PAM01403 is a boutique exclusive timepiece, serving as a tribute to the year BRABUS was founded—1977.
