LOUIS VUITTON TAMBOUR BIJOU SECRET WATCH

Famous for its luxury luggage, jewels and handbags, just over a decade ago Louis Vuitton branched out into the world of luxury watches...

In 2012, to celebrate a decade in the business, the French maison released the Tambour Bijou Secret watch - a monogrammed beauty in gold and diamonds, bearing the iconic LV logo. This spring, to consolidate the success of this resolutely Vuitton timepiece, the brand has expanded the range, adding five further colours to the collection, which were revealed at Baselworld 2013.

With new electric blue, emerald green, dark navy, pink and turquoise models, the Tambour Bijou Secret now comes in a rainbow of shades. A bracelet and watch in one, it's just what you'd expect from a luxury house turned watchmaker. Each style has a shiny lizard strap and precious gem-set dial in matching shades to make it really pop - the perfect decorative wrist jewel.

Each brightly coloured face is made from a different gemstone - lapis lazuli, malachite, aventurine, pink mother-of-pearl and turquoise - which is revealed when you swivel open the diamond-set cover. The distinctive flower monogram is a signature of the maison and has become an iconic element of Louis Vuitton's watches too. Here, it is unmissable - a colourful bloom on the cover that, when closed, hides the watch face in a 'secret' style first introduced in the 1920s when it was considered vulgar for women to consult the time and now reborn in Louis Vuitton's Tambour Bijou Secret timepieces.
