CHAMPAGNE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA

Over 200 hundred years this Champagne stood over at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, where it aged slowly in almost perfect conditions. 11 bottles was discovered and it was sold at the auction in Finland.

The bottles was found by Swedesh expedicion for deep diving near Aland Islands. Boat was found at the depth of 50 meters, all with 145 bottles of Champagne.

These bottles was made in the first half of 19th century, made by the famous Veuve Clicquot, Juglar, and Heidsieck & Co. Although, the record for the oldest found Champagne bottles from 1825 isn’t broken, this recovery represents the oldest Champagne that is still drinkable.

Few lucky people will have the opportunity to try this unique Champagne, wich is belived was on his way to Russian empires, before it’s boat sank at the bottom of the sea. These 11 bottles was sold at an auction for the price between 10,000 and 16,000 euros.
