SPECIAL EDITION KAWASAKI Z1000
The Kawasaki Z1000 wasn’t exactly in need of a makeover to make it even more aggressive-looking, but the Japanese motorbike manufacturer gave it one anyway. The result is the awesome Kawasaki Z1000 Special Edition.
The bike’s fork comes from Showa and is a Separate Function Fork with big Piston architecture, with preload adjustability in the left tube and damping duties in the right tube. There’s a Horizontal Back-link rear suspension which frees up the clutter in the bike’s rear section for a more centralized mass, while retaining full performance. The Eco Riding light indicator, dual throttle valves are standard ultra-aggressive die-cast mirrors, full LED Lighting are all standard, as are the rim-striped, lightweight cast wheels. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the Z1000 Special Edition comes in Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Graphite Grey liveries.
The motorbike’s technical specs, on the other hand, don’t seem to be any different from those of the original model. There’s a liquid-cooled 1,043cc 4 in-line engine which outputs 142 hp at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 111Nm (81.8 lb-ft) at 7,300 revs, which is mated to a 6-speed transmission actuated by a wet multi-disc manual clutch.
The Kawasaki Z1000 Special Edition comes with a price tag of £ 9,699 (€12,280 or $16,610), with another ABS-equipped version available for £ 10,099 (€12,785 or $17,290).
