London gets an ultra-luxury hotel with a secret underground tunnel

Unusual offers have become part of the norm in the hotel industry…

Desiring to cater to the needs of the shopaholics, the new London hotel promises to transport them to Harrods, via a secret tunnel built inside its estate. The £ 300m project, located in Knightsbridge, is just minutes away from the iconic London department store.

According to announcements, Singapore-based CDL plans to develop the property as a six-star hotel. The proposed scheme of the project will, after completion, contain 120 rooms, spread over eight floors above ground level and three levels below, with a sales and spa area measuring approximately 2,300 square feet. Still, the main element of the hotel is hidden as an underground pedestrian tunnel, which will connect the new hotel with the Harrods department store.

Commenting on the project, Executive Member of the CDL Board of Directors, Leng Beng Kwek said: “This space gives CDL one of the best opportunities to develop an amazing hotel in one of the best locations in central London. We are very excited about this and the fact that our portfolio will receive its London representative”.

Well, we can safely say that luxury with a twist got its new name.
