The most luxurious resort on Phuket

I’m sure that many of you already had the chance to discover the wonders of Thailand and its islands dubbed with palm trees, sandy beaches and turquoise waters… but this time, I’m telling you a story of an idyllic resort on the island Phuket, which is embroidered with history of one visionary family…

In the wonderful surrounding of lush rain forest with exotic animal world, on the north shore of Phuket, Indigo Pearl reveals its daring luxury to us, as a place where historical details collide with well-known Thailand charm.

History is reflected in every detail, in the interior and the exterior of this resort, which make us want to know more. And so, the story begins…

During the past few decades, this resort had a different concept and was named Pearl Village Resort, but the owners wanted to transform it completely. They invested a large amount of money and turned into a unique oasis in which we can enjoy today.

The owner and managing director of the Indigo Pearl, Mr. Wichit Na-Ranong, wanted his resort to be interwoven with the elements of long family history and Phuket heritage. Through contemporary design with industrial details, he wanted to remember the family’s tin mining past, and pay respects to his ancestor, who had direct influence in sustaining Phuket and the surrounding southern provinces during and after the tin boom, and he was honoured with the royal title “Phraya Rasada Nupradit”, during the rule of King Chulalongkorn. Today, the statue of his ancestor, Khaw Sim Bee, can be seen above the city itself, on top of Khao Rang, as a symbol of his leadership and vision.

Indigo Pearl Resort which we can see today was conceived by this visionary family, in collaboration with the renowned architect and designer, Bill Bensley. With the help of Ms. Prakaikaew, Mr. Wichit’s daughter and deputy managing director, the architect managed to implement the new concept in the right way, where even the smallest details will thrill you. Recycled materials, locally sourced furniture pieces and various industrial elements evoke the images of mining industry in contemporary luxury design, making it possible for this family to create a close connection with their ancestors who dealt with tin mining.

Rustic beauty and understated luxury are the real words which can be used to describe the interior of suits and villas. I believe that you will be stunned with comfort and chic interior of Indigo Pearl Resort, because you have 177 accommodation units at your disposal, including spacious suits and 7 villas with private pools, surrounded with exotic greenery.
