Gucci Fall 2019 campaign

This time, it’s all about the clothes and accessories…

During his time at the helm of Gucci, Alessandro Michele has seen seasonal campaigns of the fashion house, as an opportunity to transport fans and shoppers to fantastic places and surreal situations. Whether the models enjoy themselves on city streets along with wild animals or in antic ruins there the clothes was worn by aliens from other dimensions, Gucci brand has always presented their own interesting aesthetics, enchanting us all over again, from season to season.

For fall 2019, Michele and his companions have chosen a bit more pragmatic route than usual, giving the fans a history lesson of some sort, while at the same time depicting processes in creating garments which occur behind the scenes.

Photographed by Glen Luchford and art directed by Christopher Simmonds, this campaign was inspired by the retro era of 1900s. According to the official press release, the photographs illustrate the “evolution of immaterial to material”, or the travel which the collection conquers from its very beginning in the designer workshop, through fittings and a grand debut in front of an audience.

Gucci Fall 2019 campaign is a “story about objects, not characters, where words purposely belong to an old world”.
