In its Fall/Winter 2025 campaign, Max Mara blends fashion and literature, creating the atmosphere of a gothic love story.
Inspired by the novels of the Brontë sisters, especially the cult classic Wuthering Heights, the collection celebrates the modern heroine—bold, romantic, and untamed. The campaign was photographed by Craig McDean, with styling by Tonne Goodman. Model Angelina Kendall poses on the windswept Yorkshire moors, wearing creations that feel both raw and sophisticated. The color palette follows the landscape: leaden grays, moss greens, and earthy tones form a poetic foundation, while the visual drama evokes the pages of Victorian literature.
In the Brontë sisters’ works, nature always played a double role—both ally and adversary to the heroine. The same applies to Max Mara: silhouettes appear shaped by wind and mist, yet radiate confident elegance. Accents of bright red run throughout the collection—like heartbeats breaking through the gray, symbols of the heroine’s inner passion.
Structure and fluidity collide and merge: sharply tailored wool suits, wide trousers, ribbed bodysuits, and dramatic capes cinched with leather belts emphasize strength and dignity. In one look, a cropped jacket and turtleneck bring masculine gravitas, while a flowing skirt and ribbed top reveal the romantic yet restless side of femininity.
Details are not mere decoration but part of the narrative. Oversized leather bags, gloves, and boots serve as extensions of the heroine’s power—like armor shielding her from external storms. This is fashion as survival, but also as introspection—because Max Mara never abandons the idea that clothing carries both emotion and function.
With this campaign, Max Mara recalls what the Brontë sisters wove into literature—characters who struggle against nature, society, and their own emotions. Like Catherine and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, the heroines of this collection stand at the crossroads of passion and discipline, vulnerability and strength. The campaign thus builds a bridge between past and present: British gothic tradition meets Italian elegance, resulting in fashion that feels like a novel in motion.
This winter tale from Max Mara is not only visual—it is literary, emotional, and timeless. Every coat, every glove, every silhouette becomes a chapter in the story of a woman who dares to be herself, even when the strongest winds blow.
