Macallan celebrates the golden era of travel

Macallan has just unveiled a brand new limited edition single malt whiskey, inspired by the golden era of travel - an elegant time as the whole world opens to new adventures…

With a magnificent decanter that is an homage to airships, the innovations of the 1930s, this luxury single malt is actually the fifth and final issue of the Golden Age of Travel series. It is a new collaboration made with the brilliant glassmakers of the Lalique brand, who have created a captivating decanter that is magnificently decorated with an image of an airship, followed by a compass-shaped shutter. Inside this sophisticated crystal bottle you will find Macallan 1940s, a thirty-five year old sing malt Scotch whiskey, which reminds us of a time long gone and takes us on a new incredible journey.

The single malt in this edition represents a 44.4% ABV drink, with wonderful aromas of oak, fruit and flowers, smoked black chocolate and ginger, with an exceptional sweet and citrus finish. It is a brilliant whiskey that embodies the style and depth of the art deco of the 1930s, when these fascinating flying boats conquered the skies.

The final edition of the Golden Age of Travel series will be exclusively available through the Macallan boutiques and Global Travel Retail sales network, but if you want one of them to be yours, you need to be quick. Specifically, Macallan launched only 48 of these bottles, while only 46 are available for purchase, with a price tag of $ 50,000.
