First modern aquariums were developed in 19th century by Robert Warrington. Today they are used in designing interiors to decorate life space. Creating custom made aquariums is demanding and expensive business.
Most of them are made from glass and come in many shapes. In time materials perfected so the glass was changed with acryl. Acryl is much stronger and lighter. Laminated glass is also used to combines good sides of both materials.
Christopher Stevens, famous designer from New York, did few interiors with giant aquariums and said that client choose to decorate space like this because it adds movement to the still space.
