BLACK WALNUT & STAINLESS STEEL CARVING SET

It’s just two-piece carving set, but beside its main function in the kitchen, it’s the piece of art. Kaufmann Mercantile’s Black Walnut & Stainless Steel Carving Set includes 15-inch stainless steel knife with upswept blade and 13-inch tined fork.

The knife is strong enough to cut right through your Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas ham or any other roast you are carving up with its grade 440C stainless steel (one of the hardest, strongest cutlery metals available) blade. The fork, also 440C stainless steel, is designed with prongs that are one inch longer than your typical carving utensil, allowing you to easily pierce through and steady your meat as you carve up the meal at the head of the table.

The handles are made with 250-year-old Black Walnut, native to the Midwest and the central Eastern part of the United States. South Carolina craftsman Chris Williams chose this wood due to its beauty and history within the wood grain pattern. The wood was a gift from his friend, Dr. Bill Laney, whose sawyer great-grandfather left behind an entire garage of 250-year-old Black Walnut. Williams used naturally shed White-Tailed deer antler found on the grounds of a yet another good friend’s farm as an accent. The handles are subtly contoured for a comfortable and secure grip.
