Two million dollar Christmas tree

Jeweler Ginza Tanaka, this holiday season wished to break all records with its two-meter high Christmas tree, made of wires of pure gold. This boutique in the famous Ginza district of Tokyo says that their Christmas tree weighs 19 kilograms, and it is made of more than 1,200 meters gold wire.

"The wire is made from the finest and purest gold," said the manager of Ginza Tanaka boutiques, Takahiro Ito. He also said that the tree is the work of their jeweler, and its price is 200 million yen, or two million dollars.

Although it is likely difficult to find a buyer for this tree, Ito said that he hopes that it will be a true example of Japanese quality, flawless, meticulous and diligent art, for the whole world to hear about. "We want the whole world to see our great technique and skill, combined with glittering beauty of gold," said Ito.
