Welcome to one of the most romantic hotels ever…
Originally built for the royal family of Udaipur, Taj Lake Palace took 3 years to build between 1743 and 1746 and is located on the beautiful Jag Niwas Island in Lake Pichola. Converted into a hotel in 1963, this floating gem has been welcoming its guests ever since. This magnificent marble palace overlooks the surrounding lake and the mountains in the background, giving you a view worthy of the most beautiful pictures.
The hotel has 65 luxurious rooms and 18 suites, all of which have been restored to their original glory. The architecture of the palace consists of large arches, ornaments, paintings and works of art of all kinds. The palace became very famous again after a scene from the James Bond film, Octopussy, was filmed there.
In addition to offering breath-taking views and premium amenities such as a full-service spa, the palace also serves exquisite dishes at its guest-only restaurant, where you can sample delicious Indian cuisine infused with the authentic flavours of Udaipur.
In the evening, don't miss being tempted by the selection of martinis, cocktails and cigars at the Amrit Sagar Bar.
