Last year, the Balenciaga brand unveiled a selection of Hello Kitty inspired fashion accessories, during its Spring / Summer 2020 fashion show, and now, these cat purses can finally be purchased. If you remember, Hello Kitty bags attracted a lot of attention when presented at the Paris catwalk, where they debuted in pink, white and black. The piece reinterprets the iconic cartoon character designed by Juko Shimizu in 1974 in a high fashion style. Balenciaga creates a juxtaposition between luxury and the commercially known cartoon character, elevating it with a mustache made of shoelaces from the iconic Tripe-s sneakers.
In addition to the large Tote bag, the Hello Kitty collection also includes a cellphone holder, XXS Tote, XS Camera Bag, as well as a Top Handle Bag in XXS, S and M sizes, offered in black, white and pink with a red bow. These pieces will be available in China for starters, and will be available in other brand boutiques from late January.
