Frank Ocean is the new face of the Prada brand

He also wrote his own Prada acrostic song.

He may have dropped a song called Chanel, but Frank Ocean is actually a fan of the Prada brand. The singer-songwriter has just been named the face of the spring / summer 2020 campaign of the famous Italian luxury brand, Optimist Rhythm.

This collaboration seems to be quite natural. It is a well-known fact that this thirty-two-year-old musician can carry almost every Prada piece. In fact, last year, he wore a Prada jacket at the Met Gala, while doing the same thing when posing for W magazine's editorial. According to the leaders of this brand, Frank is the embodiment of Prada's fashion house philosophy.

"At a time when offering a simplified definition of self seems like a universal ambition, Prada enjoys demonstrating exactly the opposite values," according to a celebrity press release. We can immediately notice that this is in perfect harmony with Ocean’s music, which moves through similarly complex topics.

To prove this, carrying an assortment intended for next season, the Prada Campaign combines a series of photographs with acronyms, which play with the idea of the meaning of each letter in the word PRADA. In one picture, Frank can be seen next to his personal interpretation, which reads "Programming Rhythms and Dancing Again." He wore a long black coat, shirt and bulky boots from his new men's collection.

The campaign also features Nicolas Winding Refn, known for his films Drive and The Neon Demon, alongside Austin Butler, who almost appeared in Tarantino's hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

"Each of these three men represents the embodiment of one Prada identity, that is, one definition," the fashion brand explains. Renowned photographer David Sims photographed the famous trio in Los Angeles with the help of creative director Ferdinand Overderi and stylist Olivier Rizzo.
