How it's made: the iconic Dior Book Tote bag

The luxury bag was presented during the Cruise 2021 fashion show…

In July last year, Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her Cruise 2021 collection for Dior, with an abundance of imaginative bags and accessories. To celebrate this amazing range, the luxury house has now introduced us to how the universally loved Book Tote bag is actually produced.

Inspired by a trip to Argentina, the designer envisioned a leather bag with interestingly done details over its entire surface. The main technique used for its production, in fact, was created under the influence of the technique for beautifying the saddle, using cut drawings. Through hours of laser cutting and manual processing, the leather pattern becomes magnificent thanks to the floral details that add a unique effect. The material then received special layers of dark brown patina, and the process was completed with three-dimensional rose motifs, which come to life in the final phase.

You can see all the details in the video below, and know that the magnificent handmade bag can be bought in Dior boutiques, with a price of 6,700 dollars.
