LIQUID GLACIAL COFFEE TABLE

This water mimicing tableby Zaha Hadid could be yours for only 160.000 USD

Glamour woman of the year and renowned architect Zaha Hadid is known for her exceptional architectural prowess as seen in works such as the upcoming Dubai Opera House and Sadiyat Island. She has also lent her design aesthetic to non architectural projects such as the Z boat and this futuristic bar; the latest in this line of products is this acrylic, resin Liquid Glacial coffee table that mimics cloudless water slurping to the floor. The design on this incredible table has been created using a combination of surface complexity and refraction with a powerful fluid dynamic. The flat tabletop look is transformed from static to fluid making it truly feel like the ripples are real. It seems as though the water whirlpools above the legs and then ripples down stopping just before the telltale splash. This incredible table seems almost frozen in time as if any minute time could start and it would dissolve into a puddle.

The table has been nominated in the furniture segment of the London Design Museum’s 2013 awards. This Zaha Hadid designed almost airy table retails for a heavy price tag of $160,000. The Liquid Glacial coffee table has a height of 750 mm and can be separated into two small end tables.
