The table is inspired by Japanese rock gardens with glass vessels that break the tabletop surface, doubling as functional containers...This extraordinary table is made with an unusual concept because the surface looks quite unique. Sweep Table embodies three different materials: wood, glass and metal.
Martin is a dedicated designer who blends everyday life with functional objects. "A culmination of three elemental materials, the Sweep table embodies the harmony that exists between beauty and strength".- said the designer. This white oak board combines metal, wood and glass, which are completely different elements to produce an object that is aesthetically beautiful. Additionally, the glasses can function as containers. The table top is created from several planks glued together, pieces of which were cut from a single 12 foot white oak board. The blown glass vessels are cut and polished to be parallel to the table's surface.
