The leading Italian design and lifestyle brand confirms its authentic soul for pioneering design and opens its first UK showroom on November 8th 2012 in the heart of the Brompton Design District, London. The showroom, designed by architect Piero Lissoni, aims to become a meeting place and must-visit destination for all those interested in exceptional and authentic contemporary design.

The Piero Lissoni designed showroom is set in an historic listed building, presenting London with a striking, emotive destination to experience the influential and exciting designs that Cassina holds in its I Maestri and I Contemporanei Collections. Lissoni’s vision for the Cassina showroom is to strip back and reveal the concealed architectural overlaps created over the years; adding a new surface that emulates the deep grey tones of London city’s architectural skyline.
The industrial soul of the brand is reflected in the interior; descending from the ceiling lamps by Franco Albini hang from crimson-red fabric cables above a prominent dyed grey, solid oak staircase that unites the two floors. Authentically exposed original brickwork is painted in a warm grey tone, and striking lighting, reminiscent of post-industrial factories, enhance the dyed grey oak flooring in the basement and the beauty of the matt cement of the ground floor. A large aviary-style wire cage at the entrance of the showroom acts as a design studio for meeting clients and is also adaptable as an exhibition space.
