Versace has teamed up with Los Angeles based artists and designers Nikolas and Simon Haas to launch a range of luxury furniture pieces. These furniture pieces are opulent to the highest degree and merge gold and leather at the same time. The collection was displayed in Milan between April 9 and April 14 as part of the Salone del Mobile. The furniture collection consists of a sofa, lamps, Donatella chair (a throne), a bench, 2 armchairs and 2 tables.
The furniture pieces have been designed with hedonism in mind. Consequently, a lot of black leather and polished brass hexagons were utilized in the process. The prices of these furniture pieces are not known but Versace suggests it is going to be very high. In order to emphasize the importance and uniqueness of The Haas Brothers for Versace Home collection, Versace even roped in independent New York-based director Alexa Karolinski to make a movie that depicts the history of honey-comb furniture. The video explains and narrates the process of making honey-comb furniture in 90 minutes.
