A truly special and super-rare Isdera Imperator is looking for its new owner

When it comes to the Isdera Imperator 108i model, to say that it is rare is definitely not enough…

This retro-futuristic German supercar, which was in production from 1984 to 1993, was limited to only 30 models, making it one of the most exclusive four-wheelers of that era. Now, one immaculately preserved copy from 1991 is going up for auction, with a six-figure price that reflects its prestige.

Of course, to really understand the importance of the iconic Isder model, you need to know a little bit of its history. The radical model actually celebrated the now famous German brand, while it was originally based on the concept car, the CW311, which designer Eberhard Schultz introduced to Mercedes Benz in 1978. The famous brand from Stuttgart decided not to put Schultz's model into production, although Schultz provided the necessary parts and the way of financing through his own brand. Shortly afterwards, Isdera Imperator 108i was born.

Although it was not the fastest supercar of its time - it had to compete with the Lamborghini Countach, the Imperator 108i still had impressive performance and a futuristic design that captivated with its attention. Through a nine-year production cycle, the Isdera brand has added numerous adjustments to the aesthetics of this model and the configuration of its engine.

The magnificent silver beauty that will be sold at auction has a sleek, aerodynamic body, along with the famous gull-wing doors and retro pop-up headlights. When it comes to the powertrain, the car is equipped with a five-liter V8 engine that is matte to a five-speed ZF transmission. This setting allows the Emperor 108i to accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in about five seconds, before reaching a top speed of 283 kilometers per hour.

What makes the supercar even more special is the fact that the Isdera brand was actually closed two years after the last Emperor was produced in 1993.

Of course, that very rarity will cost you dearly - the Emperor 108i will be sold at auction in the offer of the Bonhams house in Monte Carlo on April 23, and it is expected to reach a figure between 500,000 and 700,000 euros.
