Mercedes-Benz Viano Vision Diamond

China may not be the biggest luxury car market in the world but that isn’t stopping the world’s largest automakers from selling dreams to the country’s nouveau riche. Created to be used as a chauffeured luxury van, the Mercedes-Benz Viano Vision Diamond was displayed at the opening of the Beijing Auto Show. The vehicle comes with some premium millionaire-attracting features like the gold emblazoned manufacturer’s name, golden pin striping and high quality paint finish.

The Mercedes-Benz Viano Vision Diamond also showcases some of the breakthrough material comfort features developed by the company like the cutting edge roof and window glasses that offer variable opaqueness thanks to the new vario-chromatic technology that is triggered by the application of a microcurrent and control the amount of sunlight that can filter through the glass. Interior lighting conditions can also be manipulated by passengers via Magic Sky Control system that uses variable glass across the passenger compartment’s windows. The same system can be used to black out the privacy partition between the driver and the passenger compartments.

And if the glass partition between the two compartments wasn’t enough to reinforce the class distinction, the Mercedes-Benz Viano Vision Diamond comes with a passenger compartment all trimmed in white porcelain while the chauffeur area is covered entirely in black- right from upholstery to the carpets to the ceiling and even the seat belts. The seats in the passenger compartment come with footrests, calf benches, massage features and heating and cooling functions.

Other usual millionaire -specific spoilings inside include champagne glass and bottle holders, eight diamonds embedded in the interior trim, a 40-inch screen. interior lighting, a bespoke “BeoLiving Viano” sound system from Bang & Olufsen and iPad 2 or iPhone 4-compaitble controls for everything in the cabin.
